Gracie’s Newborn Photos

Molly from E Bea Photography is absolutely amazing! She shot our lifestyle maternity photos too. We didn’t do newborn photos with Turner, so I wanted to take some now to capture Gracie and Turner! I have to admit, I was nervous about having her take photos when Gracie was only 6 days old, Turner was still adjusting to having a new baby in the house, and I was completely exhausted! But it turned out wonderfully!

She not only got those “perfect” newborn photos, but she captured the crying and real life moments too! She’s all about real and authentic photos! It was nearly impossible to narrow it down, so get ready for photo overload! Here are some of our favorites.

We’re so excited to share these with you! Thanks for being a part of this journey with us :o)

Lifestyle Maternity Photo Shoot

I apologize in advance for the massive amount of pictures I’m sharing. But, I can’t even narrow it down! I was tempted to share all 78 of them!

We decided to do a lifestyle shoot because we already did the typical maternity shoot when I was pregnant with Turner. This time, I wanted to capture a day in the life, rather than have it all about my baby bump! Now, we definitely don’t get dressed up and make pancakes every day. And there are plenty of meltdowns in the mix of our regular days. But the reality is, I adore cooking. And Turner has been a part of that since day one! I’ve had him in the kitchen with me starting in his K-Tan wrap, in his bouncer, in his Kitchen Helper, and now on a chair. I want him to love cooking too! I feel like that will translate into him being adventurous in his eating! I’ll let you know how that works out ;o)

Molly, with E Bea Photography, was super excited about the idea. She liked the idea of just letting us do our thing and her being a fly on the wall. We had a blast and definitely created some memories of our little family of 3 before Baby Girl arrives! I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Our maternity photos are in! We have tons, but I thought I’d share some of my favorites!

32 Weeks

How far along? 32 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 22 pounds gained.
Maternity clothes? Here and there.
Sleep: Still great! Every now and then I’ll get up to go to the bathroom and that’s the time Turner decides he wants to start his boxing session. Somehow, I fall asleep though!
Best moment this week: Having my shower and finishing the nursery! This was a big week. It made me SO excited to meet him!
Miss Anything? Drinking my favorite Fall coffee drinks and actually ENJOYING it. I’ve been choking down my half cup in the morning. I look forward to a time when I’ll want coffee again.
Movement: He’s nuts! I can feel him all the time!
Food cravings: It’s starting to cool down a little bit (and by that I mean it’s 85 during the day instead of 100) so I’ve been loving soups! I made Butternut Squash Soup last week for lunch and this week is Minestrone!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Have you started to show yet: I’d say so.
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? The top is starting to pop out
Wedding rings on or off? Off at night. My fingers still hurt at when I sleep. I have no clue what I did to my fingers, but when I put a ring on it hurts more!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Beyond happy!
Looking forward to: Seeing our maternity photos and going to NJ in 2 weeks to see the rest of our fam and have shower number 2!

Random Pictures

Stew and I were playing around taking some different pictures. He took the one of me and Dexter (top left) and me with my teacup (bottom right). Stew’s mom took the one of Turner’s shoes (bottom left) and I set up the tripod for our three pairs of shoes. Then I messed around on photoshop to change it up a bit. Can’t wait for our REAL maternity photos to arrive!

30 Weeks-10 To Go!!

How far along? 30 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 22 pounds gained.
Maternity clothes? Well I only bought 3 pairs of pants and 4 shirts. I refuse to buy anything else! So I will mix and match those with regular clothes for the next few weeks! Once the weather gets a little cooler, it will be leggings and big sweaters (my usual fall/winter attire).
Sleep: Like a rock! Waking up a few times at night to go to the bathroom has become a part of my normal routine these days. I think it’s my body’s way of getting me ready for Turner!
Best moment this week: Getting our glider! Stew beasted it upstairs all by himself. It is SO comfortable. We’ve both caught the other just sitting in there rockin’ away.
Miss Anything? Being able to throw any outfit on. Sometimes I forget how pregnant I actually am and go to put something on, even lounge around clothes, and it doesn’t fit!
Movement: Let’s just say I had to start my “kick counting” and he needs 10 kicks per hour….his average is about 10 kicks per minute!! YIKES!
Food cravings: Pretty normal. Although I did make salted brown butter chocolate chip cookies that are TO DIE for…they’ll be on my food blog one of these days! Other than that, I’m trying to fit in my 70-80g of protein a day… it’s a lot harder than it sounds!! Lots of greek yogurt, cheese, smoothies, nuts, etc.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Have you started to show yet: See above!
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? Still in… getting shallower by the second though.
Wedding rings on or off? Off! I did something (in my sleep??) and can no longer bend the fingers on my left hand at night… I don’t know if they swell while I sleep or what…but it’s painful. Needless to say, a ring on there would just complicate things.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: Receiving our maternity photos and having my shower!! I feel like there’s something BIG happening every week from now until November which will make time FLY. I’m trying to stay in this moment and not wish the time away. Though, I must say, I’m really looking forward to meeting this little guy :o)

26 Weeks

How far along? 26 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 18 pounds gained.
Maternity clothes? Still mixin it up with some maternity and some regular. Most of my maternity stuff that I ordered is for cooler weather, which we are NOT having yet. But I did get the CUTEST skinny jeans in bright blue (see above) which I’m obsessed with!
Sleep: Sleeping great! Last night Stew got up to go to the bathroom at the same time I was about to go, so I was planning on laying there until he came back. I definitely fell asleep between him leaving and coming back! I’ve never fallen asleep so easily in my life!
Best moment this week: Putting together Turner’s bookshelf and setting up his library by genre… the English teacher in me came out big time… poor guy! Also hanging the art on the walls. It’s getting so cozy! Stew and I stop in there at least once a day just to hang out. It’s by far the coolest room in the house. I can’t wait to update you with pictures!
Miss Anything? Not really. I’m enjoying my energy while I still have it!
Movement: Constantly! I love it : )
Food cravings: No. I’ve been back to my normal self making things like apple muffins with coconut flour! I have fun experimenting with different ingredients : ) Which is why I have my food blog!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!
Have you started to show yet: Yes. Everywhere I go people smile at me and ask when I’m due. I was talking to my friend at the gym (who’s also pregnant) and this woman was just standing there, smiling, listening to our conversation. Afterwards, she was like, “I’m sorry for evesdropping. I just LOVE hearing about pregnancy” It was cute and made me happy!
Gender: BOY!!!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? Still all in!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: So many things are coming up… my glucose test, meeting our pediatrician next week, and maternity photos. I love all of these milestones! I’m trying to enjoy THIS moment and not wish it away. Turner will be here before I know it, and I’ll never get these moments back. But it’s hard because in my mind, I’m already getting him ready for his first day of kindergarten!

Mom’s Selling Her House

I have to say, I am pretty lucky to have my mom so close to me! Not only do I get to see her all the time, but our kids get to see her! They love their Gigi. But even more, they love going to Gigi’s house for a sleepover! My mom and stepdad have decided to sell their gorgeous house in Summerville, SC that they built back in 2006. They are going to stay in the same town but build a smaller version. I know their new home will be just as beautiful!

We have SO MANY memories in their house in the short time they’ve lived there. I remember being in college and going there to see all the different phases of building. Stew and I started dating when they built it in ’06. We then got married and had our reception there!

We had our baby shower for Turner there and our maternity shoot when I was pregnant with Gracie!

And, of course, countless Sunday night suppers and holidays! I’m excited for whoever gets this house! It is so beautifully designed. It has the perfect balance of farmhouse meets shabby chic. Every inch of it was thoroughly thought out! Here’s to closing one door and opening another!

A Look Back on 2015

Another year is in the books! This has been the best yet! Stew and I spent our New Year’s Eve going out on a date (thanks, Mom) and reflecting on this journey called life. We got married, bought a house, had a son, beat cancer, bought a business, and had a daughter. Wow!

In 2015…

 we got pregnant…

Turner transitioned to a toddler room and was potty trained…

Turner started school two days a week…

Our sweet little Gracie was born and was absolutely perfect…

Turner turned 3!!!

owned our business for a full year!

And we’ve only just begun! We are excited for what our future holds. Thanks for being a part of our family and sharing our joy, tears, and parenthood! Happy New Year!
