Dimass Deeeeee A.K.A Christmas Tree

Last Christmas was fun, but THIS Christmas was amazing! The excitement has been building for a few weeks now. Every morning, when Turner and I would walk downstairs he’d say, “Dimass Dee ON!”. And wherever we would go, he’d point to Christmas lights and say “DIMAAAAAS DEEEEE!” I think the most exciting thing about this Christmas was the fact that he didn’t quite get the whole gift thing yet. Don’t get me wrong, he was super excited to see his shiny new trucks and such, but he was really excited about the music, lights, and family, which made it magical.

On Christmas Eve, we went to Pops and Nona’s house (my grandparents) for an early supper. He couldn’t wait to get there. He kept pretending to call them on the phone, screaming NONA!!! POPS!!! It was a nice low key night with a little gifting and a lot of amazing food!

We put Turner in his pjs before driving home, because we knew he’d fall asleep in the car. We got home and tucked him in bed. Then, Stew and I pumped up the Christmas music and wrapped gifts and put them under the tree. All we got for Turner was a tool bench, because our parents got enough gifts that we didn’t want to overdo it! Plus, grandparents are allowed to spoil!

On Christmas morning, we had our usual snuggle time in bed while we drank coffee, and Turner had a quick sippy cup of milk. Then, we went downstairs for the unveiling. I ran down first to get a video. Turner’s always excited to go down and see the tree, but this time, his reaction was priceless! He gasped and said “DUUUUUUTZ!!!!” (his word for truck) and ran over to his pick up truck and hopped in.

After that, we opened a few more gifts and read our cards.

Then, I made breakfast while Stew took Turner outside to ride his new truck. That lasted for a little while until Turner was hitting every curb and riding onto our neighbors’ lawns. At that point, after a short meltdown because he had to come inside, we regrouped and got ready for our afternoon at Gigi and Paw Paw’s house (my mom and step-dad), where there was more food, family and gifts!

Turner got his very own train set and conductor’s hat to go along with it! He didn’t waste any time getting that set up!

This was definitely the best Christmas yet. Turner is at that age where everything is exciting! I loved watching him have so much fun. It really brought back the magic of Christmas!

Christmas Gift Guide

1. The Kitchen Helper-This has been amazing! Turner loves to stand in it. He is actually helpful when I’m in the kitchen making dinner, washing dishes, etc. He likes to stand in front of the sink and play with big spoons and whisks too. It’s made a huge difference in my sanity!

2. Kid’s Leaf Rake-This was a purchase made after Turner and I spent the day raking in the backyard. He kept trying to steal my rake and would get very frustrated when I would have to take it back. So, I got him his own! He loves it.

3. Ball Pit-My friend got this for Turner for his birthday. He loves it. He actually takes his other toys in there to play. He likes to throw the balls out of the ball pit. I let him do it because I taught him to put them back in before we move on to the next thing.

4. Rolling Bar – We were actually in Target a few weeks ago and the rolling bar was on sale. It was so cute! I have been looking for something like this for a while. We got it immediately!

5. Scotch Glass-My husband has an obsession with scotch. His parents just went to Scottland and brought him back a bottle of scotch. So to go along with our new bar and scotch we asked for a set of scotch glasses for Christmas.

6. Tovolo KING Cube Ice Trays-These were the perfect accompaniment to our scotch glasses!

Cookie Baking Day

Every year my mom, grandma and I get together to bake Christmas cookies. The past three times Turner has joined the fun. The first year he was about 4 weeks old, so he spent the majority of his time on me or in his Rock ‘N Play Sleeper. Here’s a flashback pic from that year!

Last year he just played on the floor with some bowls and spoons. He didn’t know what the heck we were doing, nor did he really care.

This year was by far the best yet! Turner was SO excited to go to Gigi’s and see Nona and Pops. But he was especially excited to help make cookies!

At home, he helps me cook with his Kitchen Helper. We didn’t bring it to Mom’s, so I had to watch him so he didn’t fall off his chair. But he loved standing up with me and rolling out dough and clapping flour in his hands.

Then, once he got tired of that, Mom brought out a bunch of dry beans that he filled all different cups with.

We made so many cookies. It was insane. I feel like I’m gonna turn into a cookie if I keep going at this rate!

I love spending time with my family. It’s so awesome that Turner is getting older and enjoys it too! Every year with him gets better and better! We can’t wait for Christmas morning to see his face when he finds all of his gifts under the tree! Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

The Watson house has been very busy lately! Since getting home from our Thanksgiving trip to NJ, we have been in full-on Christmas mode! We decorated the house the day before we left so we would come home to Christmas! The day after we got back, we went to get our tree. It was SO fun decorating the tree with Turner! He actually participated! And every time we come downstairs in the morning, he says “Dimass Dee On”! He’s just as obsessed with this season as I am. It’s a dream come true!

He’s also been helping around the house with projects. He loves to help with the cooking, especially when he stands on his Kitchen Helper, and loves cleaning up!! I will take full advantage while it lasts!

But Turner’s faaaavorite thing is playing outside! The other day, it was beautiful out! So we spent a few hours in the backyard raking the leaves. I was horrified at the job ahead of me, but he was SO excited!!

He was actually quite helpful. I would rake the leaves into piles and he would pick up handfuls and put them in the leaf bags!

We got all of the leaves bagged up and out to the street. His being there made a tedious job pretty fun! I’m the luckiest momma in the world to get to spend my days with this guy!! Happy almost Christmas!

After our two day journey, we arrived in New Jersey on Wednesday afternoon! First, we stopped at my dad’s house so Turner could spend a little time getting to know his Pop-Pop. That was so awesome to see! Turner even got his first music lesson!

We ate supper at my dad’s and then headed around the corner to Stew’s parents’ house to get settled in for the weekend. They were so excited to see us! Turner ran around and played for a little while before we put him to bed.

The next day was Thanksgiving! We started the day with Stew’s family where we had our first meal of the day. Turner got to meet his cousins, great aunt, and great grandma! He was loving all of the people and toys!

Stew’s parents even got Turner a cake to celebrate his birthday!

That afternoon, we picked up my dad and hit my aunt’s house for our second celebration! I haven’t seen my cousins in a few years. They, and all of their kids, were there. It was SO awesome to be together again, and the kids got along so well!

Friday, I got to see one of my best friends and her little boys! It was the perfect play date! She and I were pregnant at the same time, so it was exciting for our boys to get to play together.

And, last but not least, my 10 year high school reunion was Friday night. I planned it with 3 other friends. So, Friday afternoon was spent finalizing party plans. It was a hit! It was unbelievable spending the night with my friends from high school!

We packed quite a bit into only two full days. Turner was a champ. He just went with the flow. We originally were going to start our drive home late Saturday morning and stop halfway, like we did on the way up. But we decided to leave early in the morning and see how long Turner lasted. He made it the entire 12 hours without a single complaint!

We got in around 7:45 at night and put him right to bed. It was such a packed weekend, it felt good to be home! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving too!
