Weekend Fun

Turner is finally starting to feel better after a week of snot sucking and crap naps. Stew is battling a sore throat, undoubtedly from Turner licking his fingers and shoving them in Stew’s mouth. And I am working my hardest to avoid getting whatever they have! We did, however, manage to enjoy our weekend despite the sniffly noses!

Friday night, Stew and I had our new members class at church. My mom came to babysit so we could turn it into a little date night. So we went downtown to Taco Boy for an early dinner. The class was actually a lot of fun. I love our pastor. It was nice getting to know him on a personal level. He’s amazing!

Saturday morning we had part two of our class. We finished up around lunchtime and came home to put Turner down for his nap. After nap time, we hit the beach. It was a quick, but much needed, trip. We haven’t been to the beach at all this summer! It’s really a crime when we live 5 minutes away. So, now that it’s almost September, we vowed to come to the beach every week, even if it’s for a quick jump in the ocean!

We had a blast at the beach. Turner LOVES going in the ocean. It was hard to get him out. He was not a happy camper when we left.

After we cleaned up and put Turner to bed, we had some friends over and just hung out. It was perfect. So relaxing and just what we needed. The wine didn’t hurt either.

Sunday morning, we went to church as usual. Then we actually met another couple we adore for brunch! Turner was so good. I was surprised because we were pushing into his nap time. But, honestly, when there’s food involved, Turner would do just about anything.

That night, we had Sunday Dinner at my mom’s. That’s always awesome. Turner loves going to Gigi and Paw Paw’s house. As soon as we pulled in, we were greeted by one of the ducks. Turner was so excited and started chasing him around.

We had quite a social weekend. Usually I like to spend the majority of my weekend in pajamas on the couch. Maybe it’s the “end of summer” threatening us, so we decided to live it up. Either way, it was great! I hope you’re enjoying your last days of summer too!

Sick Day

One of my best friends just pointed out that I’ve been MIA in social media lately! I’ve just been so busy and haven’t really had anything that exciting to write about! Luckily, Turner just puked all over the kitchen floor, which at least gives me something to write about!

We had our morning as usual. We started with our daily snuggle in bed with milk and coffee. Then, We came downstairs a little earlier than usual. I had to be at the gym by 8:15 to co-teach a cross-fit class with one of the trainers. He wanted to throw a little yoga into his mix. Awesome! Then I had a yoga class to teach at 9:15. Then a lunch meeting on Dewees Island.

I was at the stove around 7:30, cooking our eggs, when Turner threw up everywhere! I thought maybe he just choked on his water. Nope! It just kept coming. Poor little guy. His face was priceless. It was like he had no idea what just happened. I immediately stripped him down and cleaned up the kitchen. Then all he wanted to do was lay on me. Fine by me!

After a little while, we went into the living room to watch music videos (Turner’s favorite) and snuggle on the floor.

He got up to walk around and then round two. Luckily, I had a giant bowl ready and waiting. The awesome thing about Turner is that he’s SO happy! I don’t know anyone who can laugh and smile between throw ups! Just this guy…

Let’s hope this passes quickly! I hate when he’s sick. Luckily my mom is coming over around 11 to watch him while I go to Dewees. He loves his Gigi. She’s the only one I feel ok leaving my sick baby with! Hope your Tuesday is off to a better start than ours!

Dippy

Turner and I just finished our coffee and milk in bed and walked into the office for my usual morning organizing. Before we go downstairs for breakfast, I always spend some time wading through emails and planning out what needs to get done while he plays with his toys and Skippy (a.k.a. Dippy) the cat.

It was like any other morning. Me, typing away, Turner playing and jammin’ out to some music in the background. Turner was awfully quiet, so I turned around to see what he was up to, and I saw this…

This poor cat! She just lays there and lets him use her as a pillow. It’s so cute! Once he realized I was taking his picture, he looked up. Big mistake! Skippy shot out of there like a bat out of hell!

It was so hilarious! I had to share 😮 I hope your Monday is off to a great start!
